Explorers aged 14-18 years old take adventure to the next level from Scouts. Leigh Explorers provide a huge range of activities including diving, hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, camping abroad and we also offer yound leader training programme (see below), Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and the opportunity to take part in hiking expeditions.

Young Leaders Programme​

The unique element of Explorer Scouting is the chance to be a Young Leader, supporting our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts around the District. All Young Leaders are members of Cabot Young Leader's Unit, many are also members of a local Explorer Unit. We offer a hands on training and support program for these valuable member of the teams. There are regular training which cover everything a Young Leaders needs to know about helping out, these training sessions can also be helpful for D of E, CV or UCAS application.

Moving On​

When Explorers get to 18 years old, they move up to Scout Network where the fun and adventure continues.
